The service included music from our Preschool Choir, Children’s Choir, Guitar Group, Souled Out (our Junior Praise Band) and our Youth Band. It also included a short teaching time on how to do worship in your own home. All families had an opportunity to respond to the worship time by drawing a family portrait together and posting prayers on our prayer wall. Below is the reflection of one of our parents who attended.

“We recently attended the Evening Family Worship Service on Sunday 11/20. While we have been active members of TUMC since the 90’s, we had not attended a service quite like this one and I was curious to see how it would be pulled together. David orchestrated a time to not only focus on the musical talents of the TUMC youth, but to also worship as a family unit. Our girls have been involved with the children’s bell choir, the kid’s choir and now Souled Out. The musical portion of the service really summed up what TUMC offers in that arena. There is a spot for any child, with any desire to play an instrument, sing or do both! Thanks to all the leaders who attend every week and help the kids with their talents and gifts and may those talents and gifts always be used to glorify Him! When it came time for each family to come forward and make a picture of how their family prays and to make their prayer requests, God’s hand was certainly through it. The words, the pictures, the time spent together. It was simple. It was meaningful. It was genuine. That picture is hung on our art wall, today, as a reminder of not only that special night, but also as a reminder of what we should be doing each day and who we should be keeping first in our lives….as individuals….as a family.” - Michelle McCurley
