- 9:00 am
We will be sponsoring a ‘food packaging’ event on Saturday, November 10th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. We will be assembling ‘Family Rice Casserole’ meals that are distributed to areas of the Caribbean and Latin America suffering from food shortages. There will be something for everyone to do! Five-year olds, with adult supervision, will be able to add ingredients to the packages. Those who find it difficult to stand can sit and weigh or seal packages. We also need some strong people to heft 50-pound bags of ingredients and barrels with completed packages. You do not need to stay the entire time, but we hope to have about 240 people sign up for at least one hour. You can sign up for both hours if you like. Childcare will be available and we will also have music, snacks and prizes. We are hoping to produce 2,000 to 2,500 packets that will feed 12,000 to 15,000 people!
We will have somebody with a clipboard available at the end of each worship service during October to sign you up! You can also email or call David Roderick (firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 618.667.6241) and provide the following information:
- Number of people that will be participating
- Desired times: 9-10, 10-11 or both
- If childcare is needed
- Email address and/or phone number.
