Fear feels like a huge, empty pit next to me sometimes. Like the Grand Canyon, it is easy to tumble into Fear and hard to climb out of it. Many of us fear health issues and the insurance problems that are tangled with our health issues. We fear growing old or not growing old, losing those we love, not being able to take care of ourselves, loneliness…
Psalm 27 begins, “The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?”
We are God’s hands. When we reach out to others, we help them battle their fears. Our reaching out helps people remember that God is with all of us. Prayers, phone calls, cards, visits, meals… all make a difference for the givers, the recipients, and those who witness and are inspired to do likewise. Kindness is a Fear Fighter!!
