Wrap Up From Summer Intern Courtney Bettis:
First of all, I would like to thank the staff and the congregation for making me feel at home and supporting me throughout my internship. This summer is one that I will always remember. Not only did I get to know the staff while I was working in the office, but I also got to know so many great kids during all of the activities this summer. Finding out that Quest Camp was during my first week made me a little nervous, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I was able to spend the weekend with some the kids that I would see on Sundays for the rest of the summer, as well as some of the staff. During camp I got the opportunity to lead a small group of kids during some of the worship times. Helping the campers learn about a few different Bible stories also had an impact on me. Since I was responsible for making sure they understood what we talked about, I wanted to make sure I knew the story. This made me pay close attention during worship and helped me reflect on the story when it was over. Sunday mornings are one thing I would look forward to. I would have never thought a morning could go by so fast, but that is exactly what happened each week. I always found myself having fun with the kids, helping with the story, or helping with parents check in on the iPads. This internship was nothing less than awesome, and I will remember it forever. Most of all I am thankful for the opportunity to grow in my faith, while having fun, and for all the people I have met throughout this journey.
*Special note: Courtney will continue to work in the office throughout the fall helping with the bulletins and newsletters.
