Thanks to everyone that has participated in the Imagine No Malaria campaign kickoff this weekend. The Mystery Dinner Theater was a great time and raised over $1000 toward the campaign. SUMMER MISSION TRIPS!

Summer will be a busy time for our Church members on mission trips. In June the M&Ms for Christ will travel to Chatham IL. They will be working at the Midwest Distribution Center, serving meals to the homeless, and helping at a Methodist Church in Springfield to minister to children in their community. In July the New Life Youth will be in Joplin MO helping the community recover from the tornado last year.

I will be leading a trip to El Salvador with Living Water International in September. This trip will have a team that will conduct hygiene training and outreach and another team that will drill a water well. We will work in a small rural community to help improve the health and quality of life there. The trip dates are September 2 – 8 and the cost is $2,000. There is still time to sign up but deposits are due soon. Contact me, Andy McKellar, if you would be interested in finding out more about this mission opportunity.

Troy United Methodist Church has a huge goal to raise at least $20,000 by the end of 2013!

- Nearly 100 Share Thanksgiving Complete Meals were donated, assembled and delivered on Sunday, November 21!  It was an amazing team of people accomplishing amazing things through the generosity of the congregation. Thanks to Terri Satterlee for helping to head up the ministry. 

- Additionally, approximately 100 Operation Christmas Child boxes were collected, wrapped and dedicated on Sunday, November 21.  They will be delivered to the drop off point this coming week.  Thanks to Heather Walker and the M&M's for their coordination of this mission project! 

- More than 100 blankets were collected by Troy United Methodist Church on October 24.  The young adult ministry from the church took them to the homeless parks and personally delivered nearly 60 of these blankets to people there.  Thanks! 

- Andy and Dannette McKellar recently returned from Uganda where they had a great experience.  They saw several of the kids they sponsor, including one child they had sponsored during the 1990's.  He is now married, has five children and is attending church and loving his family.  Thanks Andy and Dannette for your ministry and for helping us "see" the work of the hands and feet of Christ all over the world!
