The middle school students were flying high on a recent Sunday afternoon at SkyZone – an indoor trampoline recreational center in St. Louis, MO. This event included a reserved trampoline court for free jump and several very competitive games of dodgeball. Students also enjoyed the Sky Slam Court where they could jump up and dunk the basketball. The nineteen students are ready to don the special orange non-skid socks to jump again soon!
Garden of the Gods State Park
An active and energetic group of high school students enjoyed wonderful sunny weather the first Saturday in May and the inspiring scenic overlooks in Garden of the Gods. This State Park is located in Southern Illinois’ Shawnee National Forest. A wooded picnic area provided shade and tables for the deliciously simple lunch of turkey, ham, and salami sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drinks. The group hiked the Observation Trail, climbed rocks, and admired the 320 million year old sandstone rock formations – Devil’s Smokestack and Camel Rock. When one of the students asked Pastor Kurt why this specific trip was planned, he replied, “I believe it is important to offer unique recreational activities for students of any ability and to experience God’s amazing creation, especially the wonderful resources of State Parks.”
