Summer Lunch Programs

The National School Lunch Program (click HERE for more information) provides students across the country free or reduced cost meals every school day during the school year.  For many kids, it is their best meal of the day.  Summer break and weekends can create a financial difficulty for many families and kids often go without food.  Troy UMC is working in multiple ways to help fill that gap, and you can volunteer for or make a donation to any of these activities.

Troy Summer Food Program

Troy UMC participates in the Troy Summer Food Program, which is a cooperative effort among the churches of Troy. Volunteers are needed to make the lunches at Troy UMC on Sunday and to distribute the lunches on Monday. You may volunteer for either or both activity. You can also make a donation of gift cards to Walmart or Aldi as directed below.

To volunteer for Sunday lunch preparation: Click HERE (or contact David Roderick –

To volunteer for Monday lunch distribution: Click HERE (or contact David Roderick –

To donate: You can purchase gift cards to Walmart or Aldi and give them to David Roderick. If you want the value of the gift cards to be included in your annual summary of giving, please be sure to put the cards in an envelope with your name and amount. Please do not put the gift cards in the offering plate.
