The “Land of Pain”

Some live in the “Land of Pain”, whether physical or emotional (including grief). They cope as best they can with the tools they are given- prayers, help from people (family, friends, professionals), and/or medications…  One of my prayers is that our church family steps up to help. If you have not been in the “Land of Pain” yourself or had someone you love venture there, you may not think it is real. It is real, and only the bravest manage to function while in Pain. When I am in Pain I am afraid and not comforted by verses saying not to be afraid. Romans 8: 37-39 comforts me, and it may help a friend in in Pain if you share it. “…For I know that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Death cannot! Life cannot! Angels cannot! Leaders cannot! Any other power cannot! Hard things now or in the future cannot! The world above or the world below cannot! Any other living thing cannot keep us away from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Carolyn Catalano, Director of Lay Ministry
